Description

Auf der rechten Rheinseite zwischen Koblenz und Bonn tritt der seltene Pseudomalachit in der Oxidationszone von Kupfererzgängen auf. Dieses Mineral wurde mehrmals unter verschiedenen Namen neu beschrieben, so auch von Erl (früher Ehl) unter dem Namen "Ehlit". Typuslokalität ist aber die Grube Virneberg. Die Grube bei Erl war nur zwischen 1810 und 1820 in Betrieb, daher sind Altfunde selten. 1990 wiederentdeckt, liefert die Fundstelle wieder Pseudomalachit.
