A képen ifj.Wahr Ernő zászlós, magyar katona társaival egy hídverésnél, vagy útépítésnél. A lengyel Kárpátokban teljesített szolgálatot katona társaival a második világháborúban.<br>
A kép 1943-ban vagy 1944-ben készült.<br>
Szabadsága alatt Budafokon érte az oroszok bevonulása Budapestre. 1945. március 12-én feleségül veszi a budafoki Króner Ljubicát.
