Püspökladányban az amatőr színjátszás több évtizedes múlttal rendelkezik, létrejötte idős Csenki Imre (1886-1962) néptanítóhoz köthető, aki évtizedeken keresztül rendezett darabokat, és városunk kulturális életének egyik legjelentősebb alakja volt. Csenki Imre az első sor közepén ül, a kép 1956-ban készült.
