Unser Bild "Kinderspiele" befindent sich im Besitz des Kunsthistorischen Museums in Wien. Manch ein Besucher der grossartigen Sammlung mag sich fragen, wieso Bruegel gerarde dort so reich vertreten sei. Die Antwort ist leicht zu geben: Erzherzog Ernst von Össtereich war während zwei Jahren (von 1593-1595) Statthalter der Niederlande.
