Professor Julius von Michel (*05.07.1843 Frankenthal/Pfalz; +29.11.1911 Berlin) war ein Kollege von Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen in Würzburg. Das Foto trägt die Widmung "Herrn Kollegen Roentgen z. fr. Er. an gemeinschaftl. Würzb. Wirken April 1900 Michel". Michel schenkte Röntgen sein Portrait wohl anlässlich dessen Umzug nach München.
