In December 1989, the three major service branches of the Hungarian Post were split into three independent companies, and the Hungarian Postal Corporation (today Hungarian Posta Zrt.), the Hungarian Telecommunications Corporation (today Magyar Telekom Nyrt.) and the Hungarian Broadcasting Corporation (today Antenna Hungária Zrt.) were established.
