Paul Betyna (1886-1967)

Paul Betyna wurde am 28.8.1887 in Bromberg (bei Posen, jetzt Polen) geboren und verstarb am 17.11.1967 in Wernigerode. Er absolvierte ein Studium an der Pariser Akademie bei Maurice Denis und in Berlin bei Lovis Corinth, wo er bis 1943 auch tätig war. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs verschlug es ihn 1943 nach der Ausbombung und Zerstörung seines Berliner Ateliers nach Wernigerode. Er war freischaffender Künstler und Landschaftsmaler.
