Description

Galvanoplastic replica of a local funerary ornament imitating the well-known Cretan cult façades. - Triple structure rising on a foundation of two to three ashlars. In each of the three windows, a column can be seen, each of which stands on one of the well-known cult devices with double horns. Double horns also crown the side wings, and 'doves' sit here on their outer tines, facing the raised central structure, which bears the halved rosette ornament that appears here for the first time in Mycenae. The entablature is conspicuously wide and carries two double horns within each other. (AVS)
