Kovács József András (Sümeg, tanár)(1906-1967)

Kovács József András (Sümeg, tanár)(1906-1967). Elemi iskolába Aknaszlatinán járt, a gimnáziumot Máramarosszigeten kezdte. 1918–1919-ben Aknaszlatinán a sóbányában dolgozott, hogy a család megélhetését biztosítsa. 1920-ban a családot Magyarországra telepítették. Pásztón járt polgári iskolába, 1927-ben Nyíregyházán tanítói oklevelet, 1932-ben Szegeden tanári diplomát szerzett. 1932-től 1945-ig több városban tanított, Csáktornyán polgári iskolai igazgató volt. Az 1946–1949-es években Jánosházán iskolaigazgató. 1949 után Sümegen tanár, iskolaigazgató, 1951-től a Kisfaludy Sándor Múzeum igazgatója. Először Nyíregyházán jelentek meg írásai a szabolcsi népszokásokról. Itt Bessenyei-díjat kapott. Sümegen élve a város és környéke történetének kutatásával foglalkozott, a Veszprém megyei újságban jelentek meg tanulmányai. Több kötetet kitevő kézirathagyatéka maradt.
